Your big Brothers, along w/our Haiti chocolate and vanilla agriculture project partners, De La Sol Haiti, won a rare honor/award for said work over the weekend on Langston Hughes birthday (Saturday)! The Global Ties U.S. (formerly the National Council for International Visitors), an organization in partnership with the U.S. State Department's international exchange program (IVLP), bestowed upon us the honor of the 2014 Citizen Diplomat award. It's their highest honor and has only been awarded 9 times since its inception back in 1987 w/Senator J. William Fulbright (of the Fulbright Scholars fame) being the first recipient.
We're humbled to share this distinction with a literary "shero" of TB's, the legendary Maya Angelou who received this same honor back in 1993!
And one of the recipients of this honor (pictured on the left) is the legendary poet/activist and national treasure, Maya Angelou (who's life and work legacy is on our list of near future flavors to make)!

Thanks again to the Global Ties U.S. organization, the IVLP/U.S. State Dept. for the honor!
