Fam: If you've not seen SELMA yet make sure to check it out! We came across this insightful story on NPR about the film's opening on the 9th at the Walton Theater in Selma, Alabama! Turns out that our friends and Haiti chocolate agriculture collaborators, De La Sol Haiti co-founders Anne and Stephanie Reynolds (Montgomery, Alabama based), who were extra's in the film (see pics), got the hook up to attend and be part of the historic moment! Sooooooooooooooooo dope!!!!!
As the 5 year anniversary of the Haiti earthquake has just come back around again (it was yesterday), it's powerful seeing all of the threads of these life altering events and issues, past and present, come together in a knot of human rights relevance today--the Haitian revolution, the Haiti quake anniversary, Ferguson protests, Staten Island protests, Selma's protest history, the timing of the new Selma film's release, De La Sol's participating in the film (as extras), their social agro-enterprise work in Haiti and their working w/TB on Haitian chocolate, etc! Powerful stuff, loved ones!
De La Sol Haiti out there on the Selma, Alabama streets w/hot tickets, fam!
